I was very happy with my presentation to the St. Marys, OH Rotary Club on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. I had prepared a Powerpoint slideshow and thank God there were no problems with the technology. Everything went smoothly. I was filled with some nervous anxiety before the presentation as I realized that there were two reporters from area newspapers in the room. The picture shown above is from Mr. William Kincade's article in the Celina Daily Standard. The Managing Editor of the St. Marys Evening Leader, Mr. Mike Burkholder was also present and he wrote an article for that paper as well. This was a surprise filled joy.
I have been publiclly speaking to groups of people since I entered Seminary in 1995, but I confess to some pent up energy/anxiety usually before I speak infront of folks. Even now, after 15 years of leading worship and preaching I find that I am usually filled with a few butterflies before worship starts. But except for the slight anxiety after seeing the reporters, I was unusally relaxed. It felt good to speak about creating mobile apps for faith based organizations (i.e. churches). I get very passionate about this subject. I was also glad I timed it out pretty well. Nobody likes a speaker who drags on and can't follow the time limits being asked for by a host. I would love to speak to other area Rotary groups, as well as other service clubs and faith organizations. It seems that this presentation has generated some mobile app interest in those who attended the presentation. Let's see it anything comes of it.
I'm so grateful to my home Rotary club for the support they have extended to me and for the opportunity to present what wemakisolutions, LLC is doing. I'm thinking about joining one of the local Chambers. God is good. All the time. Maybe I'll have something to report back to you soon.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
